Contactless PCard Functionality Coming Soon

In an effort to provide increased convenience and security, US Bank will begin issuing cards with contactless functionality on all new PCards, beginning July 1, 2020. In addition, cards expiring in August 2020 and beyond will receive a contactless card in advance of their expiration.

You will notice a slight change to the appearance of the card from your current custom card design. Most noticeably is the contactless icon which will now appear on the back of the card.

New Prepaid Card Program Coming Soon!

The University is launching its new prepaid card program in July 2020! These cards will be MasterCard branded, reloadable credit cards that will be used for a variety of business purposes, including the following:

Guidelines for the program and a new request form will be available in Mountaineer Marketplace to request prepaid cards soon. Procurement, Contracting & Payment Services will provide more information as we get closer to the launch date. If someone from your college/department has a need for a gift card or human subject payments soon, please contact PCard Administration and we can coordinate setting up your study or program in our system.

Upcoming enhancements to how suppliers do business with WVU and how to submit supplier requests

As part of our continuing efforts to help faculty and staff work smarter and simplify how we operate, the Procurement Contracting and Payment Services (PCPS) team soon will be making enhancements to West Virginia University’s process for submitting supplier requests, as well as simplifying the process for suppliers who are doing business with the University.

Don’t Fall for Gift Card Phishing Scams

Information Technology Services reminds you to be aware of malicious emails urgently asking you to purchase gift cards using personal or University funds. These emails may appear to come from someone you know or someone who works at WVU, but they are really from would-be thieves.

Do not click on any links or reply to these emails. Forward suspicious email as an attachment to DefendYourData@mail.wvu.edu or call the person who appears to have sent the request by using their number in the WVU directory.

Purchases and Expenses related to COVID-19

Dear Business Officers


As the impact of COVID-19 continues to unfold, we are trying to get a handle on the magnitude of its impact to WVU. From costs associated with canceled conferences and travel, purchase of additional supplies and equipment, to revenue lost due to canceled WVU events and programs, the financial impact to the University could be significant. Additionally, the determination and documentation of costs and lost revenue related to COVID-19 would be required to support our request for any potential federal assistance
We are asking for your help in gathering financial information to track costs and refunds related to COVID-19, either using a specially created DAs or through self-reporting via the attached templates. Please see the following guidance
